On this page, we set out, in plain language, what our guarantee and warranty cover, so you know exactly where you stand.
Scope of Guarantee
Dampness & Rot (Glasgow) Ltd puts a write-it-down promise on selected jobs, including:
- Damp-proof membranes and injections
- Dry-rot and wet-rot cures
- Timber care, such as woodworm fills and fungicidal shields
- Physical fixes for condensation are more than just a fan.
This guarantee assures you weve used the right tools, skill, and materials to meet the trades gold standard.
Guarantee Duration
The length of our guarantees depends on the type of service provided:

A Guarantee Certificate is issued upon full completion and payment.
What’s Covered
Collapse or failure of the damp course fitted within the stated guarantee period.
- Reappearance of dry rot or wet rot in the repaired section
- New timber pests, such as woodworm, in the treated zones
- Products or processes failing because of substandard materials or careless workmanship
NOTE: The warranty covers only those areas marked in the official survey report or invoice.
What’s Not Covered
Our guarantee does not cover the following:
- Pre-existing conditions not treated by us
- Damage due to leaks, plumbing issues, or poor ventilation not disclosed at the survey
- Structural damage not associated with the treated area
- DIY or third-party interference with our work
- External factors like flooding, roof leaks, or rising ground levels
- Decorative damage (e.g., blistered paint, wallpaper lifting)
- Natural wear and tear or materials affected by time, misuse, or negligence
The guarantee becomes void if remedial work is carried out by another contractor or altered by the property owner without our written consent.
Claim Procedure
To make a warranty or guarantee claim contact us in writing or via email with:
- Your full name and property address
- Invoice or certificate reference number
- Description of the problem
- Photographic evidence if applicable
- We will arrange a site inspection to assess the issue.
- If the issue falls under the guarantee, we will carry out remedial works at no cost to you.
If the issue is unrelated, we may still assist with advice or provide a new quote
Transfer of Guarantee
Our guarantees are transferable to new property owners, subject to:
- Written request within 30 days of property transfer
- administration fee
- Confirmation that no unauthorised work was carried out on treated areas
Transfer must be approved in writing by Dampness & Rot (Glasgow) Ltd for it to be valid
Limitation of Liability
While we take every precaution to ensure your property is protected, our liability is limited to:
- The re-treatment or repair of the originally serviced area
- No responsibility for consequential loss (e.g., loss of rent, inconvenience, or redecorating)
Nothing in this section affects your statutory consumer rights under UK law.
